Vine Co-Op owns and manages a large number of properties in the area, the majority of which were refurbished over fifteen years ago. Tenants needs are changing and more two or three bed units are required as single tenants have become couples and families. Heostudio were commissioned to study ten properties and produce proposals for their expansion. The original houses are fairly uniform Victorian terraces, but the previous refurbishment had resulted in bi-lateral and even tri-lateral conversions, allowing a variety of interesting solutions. Funding was obtained for a test build to prove the viability of the feasibility study. No 1 Bonnington Square was converted from a one bed to a two bed flat utilising the attic space. This project was very successful and met with much local appreciation. No 75 has now also been converted in a similar manner.
